[HanCinema's News] Core Cast Confirmed for "Seeking the King"

On February 22nd, the upcoming science fiction film "Seeking the King" confirmed six cast members. Koo Kyo-hwan and Yoo Jae-myung in the leading roles had already been known. Koo Kyo-hwan will play the military doctor Kim Do-jin. Yoo Jae-myung will play Joo-bok, a resident of the village in the demilitarized zone that Kim Do-jin visits in 1980, which is known for many mysterious events in the science fiction storyline.

In new cast members, Seohyun will play Jeong-ae, the only nurse at the town's local clinic. The child actress Park Ye-rin will play Deok-jin, the leader of the local street urchins. Park Myung-hoon will play the commander of the 66th Infanty Regiment, Gwan-woo. Lastly, Yu Seong-ju will play Colonel Lee Seo-yeol who Kim Do-jin directly reports to. Directing the project is Won Shin-yun, whose last project was "The Battle: Roar to Victory" back in 2019.

While the plot description does not make it clear how, "Seeking the King" is being described as science fiction spectacle that will rely heavily on VFX work, with themes that are relevant in the post-COVID era. Filming on the project has not yet begun. However, script readings have been held. Won Shin-yun has made it clear that his first priority will be ensuring a safe filming environment.
