[HanCinema's News] Distribution Rights for "The Roundup: Punishment" Sold to 164 International Markets Ahead of Release

The upcoming film "The Roundup: Punishment" has confirmed that even before the action film's release later this month, it has already established distribution rights in 164 foreign territories. The news speaks to the success of franchise as a whole, now in its fourth installment, and also how the film was received at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year. It screened in the special gala section, and evidently provided a compelling argument for buyers at the European Film Market.

The news also notes incremental success for the Ma Dong-seok led movie. "The Roundup" was sold to 132 territories while "The Roundup: No Way Out" was sold to 158 territories ahead of their respective domestic releases. Indonesia in particular stands out as a region of high interest for the film. "The Roundup: No Way Out" will screen there on April 24th, the same day that it will appear at the South Korean box office. Australia and New Zealand are close behind with April 25th releases.

Taiwan and Mongolia will then see theatrical releases on April 26th. The following weekend, "The Roundup: Punishment" will open in Hong Kong and Singapore on May 1st, and then Malaysia and Brunei on May 2nd. The North American and United Kingdom releases will take place on May 3rd. Cambodia will see the film screened on May 14th, and Thailand May 30th. The release dates for other regions remain unknown.
