[HanCinema's News] Mungyeong Confirmed as Filming Location for "Queen of Tears"

The city of Mungyeong recently confirmed that various romantic locations featured in the popular television drama "Queen of Tears" were indeed shot in the city boundaries. The news comes following an outpouring of interest in a storyline where the lead characters played by Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won ride a small bicycle train over rails in the bloom of spring. Purportedly, these scenes were filmed in May of last year.

These weren't the only ones- Kwak Dong-yeon and Lee Joo-bin's characters have their own romantic subplot. Their date in the Ecoworld amusement park is another example of Mungyeong location shooting. These scenes aired in the 13th and 14th episodes of the drama, which aired on April 20th and April 21st. Munkyeong has long developed facilities suitable to film shoots, with the city being mentioned in connection to dramas like "Haechi" and films like "Alienoid" among others.

With ratings of 21.625% in its most recent episode, the city of Mungyeong has expressesd high hopes for tourism in connection its "Queen of Tears" collaboration. This may extend internationally as well. Netflix reports that its subscribers have watched over 290 million hours of the drama. The next week's episodes on April 27th and 28th will mark the finale of the series.
