Interest of Japanese Cinema in Eru and KO Ah-ra

Korean singer Eru is in the unique position of being offered a role in director Sukimoro Hitomi's film "Three Tattoos", without any experience as an actor. Korean actress Go Ara enjoys box office success and Japanese media exposure with the big-budget Japanese Mongolian co-production "The Blue Wolf".

Eru has been topping the charts with the hit ballads Black Glasses and White Eyes. He and his management are contemplating the role. They are quoted saying that the offer is tempting because of the talented director and because the film is intended for the international market.

KO obtained a leading role in The Blue Wolf after beating 39,157 other contenders for the role. The epic film portrays the legendary Genghis Khan and opened on top of the Japanese box office in March and remained in the top ten in the following weeks. Her popularity in Japan has also resulted in a music album and a photobook. KO is in Korea best known for her roles in television dramas.
