Jang Dong-gun's "The Promise" topped the best record to be released in 470 Chinese movie houses

The Promise (Director Chen Kaige) starring Jang Dong-gun will be released on Dec. 15 in 470 Chinese cinemas, which are the most scale in Chinese commercial film history.
The official preview on Dec. 12 will make a great success with 500 media. 60,000 tickets for the release of first day were sold out which make 3 million Yuan in total.
The Promise is expected to make a great hit in China and will be made into a Broadway musical in the US next year.
The film invested 30 billion won production cost by three nations of Korea, China and the US attracted lots of attention as an international project. A concerted combination between actor Jang Dong-gun rising as an Asian star, Chinese top star Cecilia Cheung and director Chen Kaige who was made acknowledged with "Farewell My Concubine" and "Together" was a sensation.
