KIM Hye-soo and PARK Hae-il cast in Modern Boy

Top stars Kim Hye-soo ("Tazza: The High Rollers" - ("Tazza: The High Rollers")) and Park Hae-il ("Rules of Dating") have recently been cast in an ambitious new film set in 1930s Korea.

"Modern Boy" will examine the social phenomenon of the "Modern Boy" and "modern girl" – people who dressed and acted in ways that radically broke from traditional Korean culture – in colonial-era Korea.

PARK plays a man who returns from studying in Tokyo and gains a reputation as Korea's foremost "Modern Boy", while KIM plays a mysterious woman who is involved in dancing, singing and designing.

The film is being directed by Jeong Ji-woo, the talented director responsible for "Happy End" (1999) and "Blossom Again" ("Close to You") (2005). It is scheduled to start shooting at the end of May, with a release planned for early 2008. It is produced by K&J Entertainment – the production company launched by directors Kang Woo-suk and Jang Jin -- and will be distributed by CJ Entertainment.

KIM and PARK recently appeared together in Chung Yoon-chul's well-received comedy "Skeletons in the Closet" ("Shim's Family").
