Ko So-young to make big-screen comeback in horror movie

Top actress Ko So-young will make a comeback after a three year absence with the movie "Apartment" by director Ahn Byeong-ki, who has produced a number of horror hits, including Phone.

Ko will appear on the big screen after her last role in the 2002 film "Double Agent".

"Apartment" has already drawn significant attention for recording preliminary sales of three million dollars at the film market of the 58th Cannes Film Festival. It is a story about a young man living in a shabby apartment in the Seoul suburbs. One day he witnesses lights being turned on and off mysteriously in an apartment across the street and later learns that several people have died there. The plot of the movie is based on the same-titled cartoon by Kang Full.

A person from the film's production company said expectations are running high for "Apartment" as it stars Ko, who will make a comeback after a long hiatus and is expected to display a special unique charm that she has not yet shown in TV dramas and other movies. He also added that the movie is expected to live up to the highest standards, in part because the original story received favorable response from many readers.
