Korea dramas on the air in real time with 'Review VOD' in Japan

According to Shin Sang-mok, manager of Dreamzen Corp., the popularity of Korean dramas in Japan is not as tremendous as in last year, yet it goes along.Known as an influential quarterof hallyu (Korean wave) in the Japanese market, Dreamzen operates a website, called Rihure ( http://www.korihure.com ) providing information on hallyu.

In case of TV dramas widely liked at home, they are generally delivered in real time to Japan through hallyu-related news. Especially, number of core user class, watching 'Review VOD' on the Internet, is increasing, Shin says.

Some of his acquaintances watch drama videos, being aired in Korea when their friends in Korea tape and send them to Japan. Others who cannot even wait for that visit websites of Korean broadcasters or portal sites to download 'Review VOD' of dramas they demand.

In that case, Japanese viewers could not understand Korean words, as there are no Japanese subtitles, yet it is said that they simply like to enjoy in real time.

Some drama goers try hard to learn Korean and browse Korean websites without any difficulty to watch dramas. For those Japanese hallyu fans with such passionate efforts, time and space have no meaning thanks to the Internet.

For example, "My Name is Kim Sam-soon" - 'My lovely Samsoon,' which heated up this summer in Korea, has not been officially introduced yet in the Japanese market. However, Japanese media already covered the drama while it was on here, besides hallyu mania are opening up fan cafe (online fan club) or blog in regards to "My Name is Kim Sam-soon" - 'My lovely Samsoon.'
