Korean animation is going to abroad

Korean animation companies are focusing on enter the overseas market.
According to the related person on Dec. 1, the animation business is accelerating to advance the global market by close co-operating with foreign companies from the planning for the promotion, and even some established the local studios.
Enemes Co., Ltd. (CEO Choi Jin) co-produced and concluded a distribution contract of "Z-Squad" (www.z-squad.net), 26 episodes animation, with Canadian big animation company Nelvana. Enemes is leading the project with Nelvana like distributing three episodes to be made already in 800 million won and co-producing the rest 23 ones. The project is the scale of 7 billion won which were invested 30% respectively by three companies such as Enemes, Nelvana and Sobig Animation Enterprise Open & Investment and the animation will be aired in Canadian YTV, Korean SBS and Mexican Televi.
After Korean Broadcasting station SBS and Japanese Dentsu's decision to co-produce the animation, 51 episodes animation series "Pita pat Secret Friend", which is being aired in Japan, found the partner in each country. SBS Production and Dongwoo Animation from Korea and leading Japanese companies such as Dentsu Tech, Gallup and Geneon Entertainment joined the project as well. It had an advantage of basic airing guarantee through the judgment about which one will be popular. SBS and Dentsu agreed to co-produce more than one piece per year if it would be popular.
Sieun Design Co., Ltd. (CEO Lim Sie-woon) to be well known with the character production of "Hello, Franceska" makes a partnership with an Indian big film producer and establishes a 3D animation studio in the local. The company will produce the creative animation in the first half of next year after its studio establishment early next year.
Manager Bae Young-cheol in comic & animation team of Korea Culture & Content Agency said, "Korea's ability in planning and production has improved to the level of developed nations. We produce competitive pieces, therefore, we could lead the project in co-operation".
