Korean Stars Recognized by Asian Excellence Awards

Korean Movie Stars Kim Yunjin and Korean-American Actor Daniel Dae Kim have been honored with the 'Asian Excellence Awards" by the American cable channel AZN Television which serves the growing Asian American community in the United States.
AZN Television announced on January 19 that it has selected Korean actor Daniel Dae Kim and actress Kim Yunjin as the outstanding male and female TV performers for 2005 at the AZN TV`s fifth annual "Asian Excellence Awards".
The two Korean movie stars were given the awards for their outstanding role in the ABC hit drama series "Lost".
The Asian Excellence Awards, featuring the Remy Martin X.O Honors, is intended to highlight the excellence achievements of Asian Americans in the fields of entertainment, sports, film, music fashion and science.
The awards include Outstanding TV Performance, Outstanding Film Performance, Outstanding Feature Filmmaker, Outstanding Live Performance, Outstanding Athlete, Outstanding Stylemaker, and Outstanding Newcomer.
Korean actress Kim is currently gaining popularity through the TV hit series "Lost". Kim was recently referred to as Korea's "Julia Roberts" by America's legendary People Magazine.
Raised in New York, Kim received her bachelor's degree from Boston University, and then made her acting debut in Korea.
Daniel Dae Kim plays the Korean character known as Jin Kwon on the "Lost". Korean actor Kim has been steadily building a successful career in film and TV in the U.S. He recently appeared on the action film "Cave".
Born in Korea, Kim immigrated with his family to the United States when he was just two years old. He is a native speaker, although most people wouldn't guess it from his performance on "Lost".
Daniel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Haverford College/Bryn Mawr College in Theatre & Political Science. In 1993, he started the MFA acting program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and graduated with a Masters in Acting in 1996.
Daniel's first major role was as a very young Torvald in Pan Asian Repertory Theater's presentation of Ibsen's classic play, "A Doll's House". He has had numerous theater roles which comprise the bulk of his early acting career. Daniel currently lives in Hawaii.
