Korean TV animated film Giant's Friend released in the world market

Korean TV animated film Giant's Friend advances into the world market with a grand joint-venture contract with a major French company.

"The animated film Giant's Friend has entered into a joint-venture contract worth 8.5 million dollars 'the biggest figure in the history of Korean TV animation industry' with Timoon Animation to collaborate on the production", SAMG Animation (CEO: Kim Soo-hoon) announced on July 6.

For the collaboration, SAMG invests 3.4 million dollars and oversees the main production, while Timoon invests 5.1 million dollars and takes care of the scenario, music, and recording.

Particularly, SAMG has secured the distribution rights in the USA and Asia as well as the broadcasting in French airwaves and cable channels. Upon production completion, the animation will be broadcast in Korea in 2008.

"SAMG successfully produced Giant's Friend with the investments it has secured", said Kim Soo-hoon, CEO of SAMG. "Because Timoon sincerely wanted to become our partner in the production of Giant's Friend, they accepted our conditions despite the fact that they have an upper hand in terms of the investment ratio".

A 26-episode comic adventure set in the era of space exploration in 2015, Giant's Friend tells the hilarious adventures Rynus, son of an astronaut, and Boom, his alien friend at the Space Exploration Center.

Giant's Friend has already been acknowledged for its potential as a global product, having been awarded the SPP Best Technology Prize at SICAF as well as selected as an excellent pilot by the Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA).

Timoon Animation, affiliated with Lagardere Media, is an animation company with a strong network basis in publication and media. It previously collaborated with SAMG in the production of The Odd Family.
