Launches online streaming and PMP downloading services

KTH (CEO: Song, Young-han) is strengthening its A/V contents distribution business.

Having recently acquired the download rights to some 200 newly released films, KTH plans to strengthen its A/V contents distribution business, the company announced.

Thanks to its recent acquisition of the download rights to these films, KTH was able to pave the way for its offering of legal contents to PMP companies and Internet download service providers and to join hands with platform businesses, the company added. Until now, KTH has been offering only online streaming service.

Having already completed its contract to supply PMP contents to Samsung Electronics, KTH is scheduled to provide the download service for Samsung Multimedia Studio (SMS) in the second half of this year, and is considering a partnership with other PMP businesses such as REIGNCOM or KOID.

"Some customers would have had to use illegal contents as there were limited legal contents even if they wanted to purchase them", Kim, Hyung-Man, director of KTH's A/V Business Team, said. "In the future, KTH will acquire more contents and open new markets continuously via partnerships with download service providers so that our customers could enjoy new contents legally".
