Lee Hyori, Wilber Pan to Appear in Hyundai Motor Ad

Singer Lee Hyori, 30, and Taiwanese singer Wilber Pan, 29, will appear together in a TV commercial to be shown in China and perform the background song as a duet. Lee's agency, Mnet Media, said the two singers had been cast for a TV commercial for Hyundai Motor's "i30" and will record its background song in Korean and Chinese. They will begin shooting the commercial on July 19 in China.

The commercial will be produced in the form of "branded entertainment", like Samsung Electronics' Anycall commercials, which featured diverse content. It will be produced by director Cha Eun-taek and songwriter Park Keun-tae, who also produced the Anycall series.

Mnet Media added that Wilber Pan had arrived in Korea on July 14 and began recording the song the next day. Lee will start recording on July 16 and the two will shoot the commercial/music drama on July 19 in China. Lee will also hold two or three promotion tours in China. "So far Lee Hyori has never debuted overseas, but the upcoming visit will not be her official Chinese debut", said the agency.

Wilber Pan gained popularity in Chinese-speaking countries in 2006 for the song "Bu De Bu Ai", which was a remake of the song "Please Tell Me Why" from the Korean hip-hop duet Freestyle.
