[Lily's Take] Lee Soon-jae Speaks Up About the Recent Scandals in Korean Showbiz

Veteran actor Lee Soon-jae shared his opinion on the trending news of the #MeToo movement that has caught fire in Korea.

On March 1st, actress Park Hae-mi visited actor Lee Soon-jae for a short interview for the documentary "Life Documentary My Way". Park Hae-mi mentioned the #MeToo movement during the interview and how it has shaken the Korean entertainment business.
Lee Soon-jae asked back humorously, saying, "I wasn't like that when we were filming "High Kick!", right?" Park Hae-mi sincerely answered to the question as she said, "Absolutely not. In the show, you may have had the nickname of "Porn Soon-jae" because of your character, but you were always the man with integrity, good-manners and a true gentleman".
At such sincere answer from his junior actress, he shared his thoughts:
"I don't have anything to say about #MeToo movement. I just had to reflect myself. I thought to myself, have I ever done anything inappropriate? We need to be cautious. I can't be thinking of others as someone lower than me just because they are my student or junior. Rather, I need to think of how they are human beings like me. I think this was a good opportunity for all of us to reflect and repent".
