March Is the Worst Month for Burglaries

The worst times for burglaries are month of March and late weekend nights.

Security service provider S-1 on Thursday said burglars break in when people leave their houses for long hours as spring finally comes.

It seems even burglars take summer holidays. Break-ins decrease significantly in July and August, because although many people are away, the nights are short and many people are active after dark.

Some 34 percent of burglaries take place at weekends, when people are away and many offices and stores are closed.

Some 77 percent of burglaries happen between midnight and 6 a.m., and the dead hour from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. is the most dangerous of all.
