The Korean film market share reached 60 percent in May, according to multiplex theater CJ CGV on Wednesday.
During May, market share of Korean films recorded 58.4 percent in theaters in Seoul and 60.7 percent across the nation. The numbers are similar to those of May last year.
Although the market share in the Seoul region decreased by 12 percentage points from 70.1 percent in April, the number is higher than this year's average of 51.3 percent.
