Product Description

Product Description

Quite by accident, a film director arrives in town a day early. With time to kill before his lecture, he stops by a restored palace and meets a fledgling artist. She s never seen any of his films, but knows he s famous. They talk, they go to her workshop to look at her paintings, and they have sushi and soju. More conversation follows, along with more drinks, and then an awkward get-together with friends where all sorts of secrets are revealed. All the while, they may or may not be falling for each other. Then, quite unexpectedly, we begin again, but now things appear somewhat different. An uncanny romantic comedy, Right Now, Wrong Then is a deliciously intricate masterwork from filmmaker Hong Sangsoo. Special Features: Lost in the Mountains (2009, 31 minutes), a short film by Hong Sangsoo Video intro by filmmaker/critic Dan Sallitt (25 min.) Press Conference with director Hong Sangsoo and actress Kim Minhee at the 68th Locarno Film Festival Theatrical Trailer

Both funny and poetic. The first part was good, the second part better and the combination truly great.

Interesting movie. Minimalist - a few characters, a story about a couple of artists in South Korea.

Similar vibes to Lost In Translation. Really enjoyed.

The movie was slow and and it doesn't really build up to anything worth watching. It tried to capture the chemistry between Scarlett and Bill Murray in Lost in Translation but the main characters in this movie just did not have the same charisma. It was honestly a waste of time and money. Deeply disappointed.

This is a real artistic project: a wonderful love poem, that really bets for life, feelings, fraternity and humanity. Two lonely human beings united by the art (A filmmaker and a painter in progress) will casually meet and exchange reflections which eventually will lead them to discover the profound affection and reciprocal admiration of each one of them.

A knock out performance by this formidable young actor. As a matter of fact, I included him into my personal list of the ten best male acting of the decade.

A great addition to my Korean DVD library. Love this director's work; always the unexpected narrative, even if the characters and situations seem familiar. Hong Sangsoo and Kim Minhee always turn out interesting films.
