[Orion's Daily Ramblings] A Special Bond In "The Most Beautiful Goodbye"

It is time to meet the heroine of the drama and to explore the different relationships she has with her family. The production has released stills of actresses Won Mi-kyung and Kim Young-ok in the roles of Kim In-hee and her mother-in-law respectively. Going by the information I am reading, theirs is a special bond which received great love from audiences in the original.

The two women are not only bound by their positions in their family, but by the fact that their respective conditions lead them down an isolating path. The heroine's struggle with terminal cancer and her mother-in-law's struggle with dementia are a point of connection for the two. The women share a wide range of emotions throughout their relationship and the actresses are expected to deliver them beautifully.

"The Most Beautiful Goodbye" has also released filming stills of the cast's rookie, Choi Minho, who will be playing the family's youngest son, Jeong Jeong-soo. While we do not get a lot of information on the character just yet, the actor speaks about his personal emotional connection to the story. Being the youngest son in his own family, this character makes him think of his own mother, which no doubt helps him ease into the role.

I don't have much experience with the actor myself and while I am generally not fond of the habit of casting idols (or anyone) without corresponding studies or proven talent and skill in pivotal roles, I think this is a production which would not take a risk with someone they are unsure of. Choi Minho has gone through many a supporting role and it looks like he has tried different genres as well, so he's going about things the right way and that's always good.
