[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Do Kyung-soo and Nam Ji-hyun Considering "100 Days My Prince"

We have quite the pairing on our hands, should they accept, because if all the fan love and excitement for this young duo separately is anything to go by, their combined efforts will be quite the thing to look forward to. Do Kyung-soo and Nam Ji-hyun have been reported as considering "100 Days My Prince", a romantic mystery fiction drama about the disappearance of a crown prince.

Should they accept, Do Kyung-soo will play the prince named Lee  Yool. The drama depicts what happened to him during the 100 days when he was presumed dead after falling off a cliff following an assassination attempt. It seems that he takes on the name Won-deuk and becomes an entirely different person. Hello, dramamnesia, my old friend? Nam Ji-hyun will play Hong-sim, a woman who runs Joseon's prominent detective agency, when she meets the confused Prince. Going by the title and genre, I assume that their love will form during those days.

Speaking of which, that's one busy way to describe a show. A romantic mystery fiction period piece is a mouthful, and I generally have trust issues with shows gunning for too many genres. It feels like trying to cover all bases and that never ends well. On the other hand, I understand the need productions have to hype their works up. Redundant descriptors aside, a mystery romance sounds perfectly reasonable and rather exciting.

Both actors are currently in that cautious "Hold your horses" phase of reviewing the works offered, but I have to admit I'm kind of itching for a confirmation here. "100 Days My Prince" is written by No Ji-seol ("My Lovely Girl", "Scent of a Woman") and it's currently looking into a timeslot on tvN. I'll be following this for a bit.
