[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Ko Sung-hee and Son Sukku as Trouble Duo in "Mother - Drama"

We're expanding our look into the cast of "Mother - Drama" twofold this week, as we get stills of Ko Sung-hee ("While You Were Sleeping - 2017", "My Beautiful Bride") as Hye-na's negligent mother as well as casting information for Son Sukku as the mother's boyfriend.

Without giving potential spoilers out, this is one sordid, messy pair and you can imagine what little Hye-na (Heo Yool) goes through that makes someone like her teacher think kidnapping is somehow the better option. Ko Sung-hee's Ja-yeong is described as a selfish woman who does not want to and cannot handle her daughter's upbringing.

I haven't been a big fan of Ko Sung-hee in the past, but she showed enough betterment in "My Beautiful Bride" that I can see her slowly growing through supporting characters. I like her role choices and she picks interesting projects, so I hope I can enjoy her more this time.

Ja-yeong's boyfriend is a real piece of work, so I can't wait to be disturbed and saddened by their connection as well. Actor Son Sukku is most notably known through his work in "Sense 8", so he is an entirely new face to me and therefore one I look forward to discovering.

"Mother - Drama" will premiere on January 24th, following "Prison Playbook" on tvN.
