Park Hae-jin's Disappearing Act

It seems the lack of subtlety in erasing Park from "Cheese in the Trap" has carried over to the OST booklet. More mess comes from Kim Go-eun's side, because of statements she may or may not have made. Things are ugly, but this is just a good reminder that these industries have their issues behind all the glamour and that we know too little about what goes on in each situation to place blame. We do it anyway, of course, because we just suck like that.

Timeslot Hype Intensifies

"The Royal Gambler", "Monster - 2016" and "Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho" are all arriving to the same Monday and Tuesday 22:00 (10 p.m.) timeslot. If you wanted variety, here it is! All three shows have their own appealing qualities for viewers and this makes it one rich in diversity season for these two days. Hallyu sweethearts, epic melodrama, beloved oddballs; plenty to look forward to. Now we just need to clone ourselves to keep up with everything.

Interview with Sam Okyere

Lisa's video interview with Sam Okyere post-"Moorim School" is finally out and we are very proud. She has worked very hard on producing this and I have been busy behind the screen to create the edited clip. Sam has a lot of inspiring words for you, HanCinema readers and his insight as an international actor in a foreign industry is very enlightening. You can see the full interview here.

Upcoming Drama Goodies

"Another Miss Oh" has gone on a casting spree and so has "Master - God of Noodles". Yes, the one about a man who makes noodles. For reveeeenge! Sorry, I cannot help it. The premise is not aided by its title. "Memory" is still determined to make viewers go into the fetal position and cry before it has even begun airing. Over on JTBC, "Ms. Temper and Nam Jung-gi" keeps things light and naked. Yes, you read that correctly. "Goodbye Mr. Black" has released some less-than-inspired posters and "Uncontrollably Fond" is approaching slow and steady, with new script reading stills.

Followed Dramas

I am way behind on "Signal", but I am marathoning it hard right now. I am very glad the time altering element is not just used for crime solving, but interesting dilemmas and character development. And boy, what a heart-wrenching experience it is sometimes. "Descendants of the Sun" continues to be a huge success and introduce new conflicts and hotties, most of which do not personally grab me, but which I appreciate anyway. May it give pre-production a solid future! Due to the interview we have been busy with, I did not have time for "Please Come Back, Mister" this week, but I will get right on it come Monday. "My Little Baby" is sadly in subtitling oblivion.

Until next week, folks! In the meantime, I would love to chat with you all in the comments. I am serious. I will be sitting here, staring longingly at the empty space.
