Seminar on "Hallyu" to Be Held at National Assembly Library July 18

The National Assembly "Hallyu" Research Society and the Korean Broadcasting Institute will jointly hold a seminar under the theme "Hallyu Stars' Influence and Their Value". The joint seminar will be held at the National Assembly Library's auditorium on July 18 at 2:00 p.m.

The upcoming seminar is aimed at seeking the sustained development of the hallyu boom and taking full advantage of it in the entertainment industry through an in-depth analysis of hallyu stars. The seminar will also deal with the hallyu stars' substantial contributions to the boom, and the future ripple effects of these contributions.

The main thesis for the seminar will be presented by Choi Hyun-joo, a professor at Sungkyunkwan University's Graduate School of Mass Communication and Journalism. Choi will discuss the main themes such as "'Hallyu' seen from consumers' perspective", "An analysis of the economic value of hallyu stars", and "A cultural war between Britain and the United States in terms of The Beatles and Elvis Presley".
