At a press event on Thursday, about a month ahead of the festival, Shim said she will set her sights on promoting PiFan.

PiFan selected Shim to promote the festival as she is a perfect fit for the festival's theme of "love, fantasy and adventure", considering her versatility proven through her stunning performances in numerous films and dramas, her management agency said.

Shim made her acting debut in several TV dramas when she was a child and has expanded her acting career by appearing in hit films such as "Sunny - 2010" in 2011 and "Masquerade" in 2012.

She earned even more acclaim with her latest film "Miss Granny", a comedy about a widow in her 70s who is about to be sent to a nursing home. Things take a turn for the surreal when she wakes up one day in the body of her 20-year-old self and relives her youth.

PiFan will take place from July 17 to 27 in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province. The city is also spelled Puchon.
