On the final episode of the KBS 2TV drama "Gunman in Joseon", Park Yoon-kang protected his love Jeong Soo-in (Nam Sang-mi and Yeon-ha (Kim Hyun-soo) until the end.

Kim Ok-goon (Yoon Hee-seok), who planned on opening a new Joseon with the help of Japan, was wrong. Park Yoon-kang wanted that to happen on his own free will. However, Kojong (Lee Min-woo) didn't want Japan's help sent Min (Ha Ji-eun) to intervene with the Qing Dynasty and in the end, the coup d'etat failed.

Park Yoon-kang fought against Choi Won-sin (Yu Oh-seong) until the end to protect Yeon-ha. Park Yoon-kang had been enemies with Choi Won-sin ever since he'd killed Yoon-kang's father. Choi Won-sin was wrapped up with so much fury that he made the mistake of shooting his daughter Choi Hye-won (Jeon Hye-bin); his madness had reached its peak.

Park Yoon-kang pointed a gun to Choi Won-sin's head, but wasn't able to pull the trigger. Choi Won-sin yelled at him to shoot and yelled about how he didn't need empathy from someone like him, then Yoon-kang said, "You are a poor human who's just in the wrong generation. It's a tragedy which Joseon has created". He wanted to let Choi Won-sin go but he took his own life.

A few years later, Park Yoon-kang had become the people's hero. He left the village saying he was going to move to another village where people were being abused and robbed.
