Tome on Korean film history published

Amid the growing popularity of Korean movies at home and abroad, a book that deals with their history has been published.

"The History of Korean Movies" (Communication Books; 480 pages; 25,000 won) contains a periodical overview of the domestic movie industry and market from the late 1890s. The book deals with how the industry and laws developed and changed over time.

Edited by Kim Mi-hyun, the policy-making team manager of the Korean Film Council, and 30 film experts, the book was published with hopes for domestic movies to further thrive by presenting factual historical information.

The book is currently available at local bookstores.
