"Tree Robo" won Grand Prix at International Festival

KOTRA (CEO Hong Gi-hwa) said that 3D animation "Tree Robo" for HD, which was produced to promote Korean culture contents at EXPO 2005 Aichi, Japan, won the highest award, "Grand Prix" at Bradford Animation Festival, the British biggest animation festival.

"Tree Robo" presented by KOTRA was awarded as Grand Prix among 750 competitive works during the 12th Bradford Animation Festival to be held from Nov. 16 to 19 and organized by NMPFT - National Museum of Photography, Film & Television.

According to KOTRA, the festival selected "Tree Robo" for Grand Prix, as this is a story about a boy and a robot that restore the devastated environment through their communication. The contents and creativeness are prominent.

"Tree Robo" is an animation 3D solid movie for HD, which KOTRA produced the animation for the promotion of Korean culture contents with 1.2 billion won of production cost at EXPO 2005 Aichi. Japanese evaluated it to show the latent ability of neighboring country, which cannot be explained with Hallyu stars.

"Tree Robo" won a golden prize in June at Singapore International animation festival. KOTRA said that "Tree Robo" attracts a significant reaction without expectation and they consider distributing abroad to promote Korean culture contents.
