According to his agency 51k on the 14th, Uhm Jun-gi confirmed his appearance in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama "Chief Detective 1958" which will be broadcast for the first time on April 19th.

"Chief Detective 1958" is a prequel of "The Investigation Team Leader", which writes the history of Korean-style investigations, and it is a drama about detective Park Yeong-han (Lee Je-hoon), who specializes in arresting small thieves in the era of barbarism, with a team of three individual colleagues, breaking the extraordinary equation of corruption power with common sense and becoming a detective for the people.

Uhm Jun-gi is expected to catch viewers' attention by appearing as Seong-chil, a young man at a rice cake shop in Jongnam Market, in "Chief Detective 1958". Seong-chil is a young man who lost his parents to the war but survived and works at a rice cake shop in Jongnam Market. Uhm Jun-gi, who is young but has a strong sense of responsibility deep inside, will work with Lee Je-hoon as a 'scene stealer'.
